The Alvord Brain Tumor Center is a collaborative group of physicians and researchers working together to improve the treatment and outcomes of patients with brain tumors. Patients are seen at a multidisciplinary patient care and diagnostic clinic at UW Medicine.
Our research programs at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, Children’s Hospital and UW Medicine include collaborative patient-based and basic science efforts investigating tumor and stem cell biology, modeling, nanotechnology, drug development and therapeutic response.
Pearl Jam lead singer, Eddie Vedder and wife Jill team up with Rag & Bone clothing company from New York to raise money for brain cancer research. During this holiday season, 10% of the proceeds on sales of Eddie and Jill’s favorite items in the store will be donated to the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center and UW Medicine Alvord Brain Tumor Center. Our patients, faculty and staff joined more than 2,700 people for the 2013 Seattle Brain Cancer Walk and raised $485,000 for brain cancer research in the Pacific Northwest. View photos and video of the event
